E-Recruitment Privacy Statement



One of the biggest changes to data privacy law comes into effect on 25 May 2018. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) means that you'll have more control over how your data is used, and it will be better protected by organisations. To reflect these changes we've updated our privacy notice to let you know how we manage your personal data, and your rights. The new privacy notice will be available from 25 May.

Rolls-Royce plc and its group companies (collectively, "R-R") respect your concerns about privacy. This Privacy Statement describes the types of information, including personal data ("Information") that R-R collects on this website at, or through the R-R Avature CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool, how R-R uses the data, with whom R-R shares it, and the choices you can make about R-R's use of your Information. It also describes how R-R protects the security of your Information and how you can contact R-R about its privacy practices.



Information that you provide on this website will be stored and processed by R-R's nominated supplier, Oracle Corporation UK Limited of Oracle Parkway, Thames Valley Park, Reading, Berkshire, RG6 1RA and its sub-contractors (“Oracle”). Oracle provides hosting services for this website in London, United Kingdom.


Information that you provide to R-R may also be stored and processed by AMS’ nominated supplier, Avature USA, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company with its principal place of business at 48 Wall Street, 11th Floor, New York, NY 10005, USA and its sub-contractors (“Avature”).  Avature provides hosting services in The Netherlands.



For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998, the data controller is Rolls-Royce plc of 62 Buckingham Gate, London, SW1E 6AT. The Chief Privacy Officer can be contacted via this address, or email:




For the purposes of the Bundesdatenschutzgesetz (BDSG) the data controller for Germany is Rolls-Royce Deutschland Ltd & Co KG, Eschenweg 11, Dahlewitz, 15827 Blankenfelde-Mahlow. The Data Privacy Officer can be contacted via this address.



R-R uses a Third party service provider, Alexander Mann Solutions Limited, 3 Waterhouse Square, 138-142 Holborn, London, EC1N 2SW, to process personal data as part of the recruitment process. This data will be processed in Poland and/or Manila.



As part of the job application process, R-R collects Information, which may include the following:



  • Contact information (e.g. name, postal address and email address)
  • Nationality and age range
  • Academic and vocational qualifications, skills and competencies
  • Resume/CV documents that support your job applications, including reference letters and transcripts
  • Employment history
  • Job application history
  • Remuneration and Benefits package
  • Your responses to job-specific questions
  • Information relating to how you heard about our job opportunities
  • Diversity and equal opportunities information
  • Any other information you voluntarily provide to R-R on this site


When you visit this website R-R also collects certain Information by automated means, using technologies such as cookies, web server logs and web beacons.


Cookies are small text files that websites send to your computer or other Internet-connected device to uniquely identify your browser or to store Information or settings in your browser. R-R may use the Information collected through automated means on this website for data analysis and system administration purposes, such as to determine whether you've visited this website before or are new to this website, and for compliance with R-R's legal obligations, policies and procedures.


R-R will not use Information collected on this website for marketing purposes without your consent. When you create an account on this website, R-R will ask for your consent to send you job alert email notifications whenever a new position matching your profile is posted. You can stop receiving these notices by logging into your user account and modifying your preferences.




R-R obligations under privacy legislation includes ensuring that we have determined a legal basis for the processing of your information.  R-R is relying on the ‘legitimate interests’ processing condition for collecting and processing your information for the purposes listed above.  This means that we need to process your information in order to pursue our interests, such as recruitment and employment, and that our interest is not overridden by your fundamental rights or interests.  Where we collect and process your data prior to entering into a contract with you for employment purposes, we will also rely on this as a legal basis for processing your personal data.  We will also rely on your consent to process your personal data, where applicable, and will make sure that you know how to consent where this is the case, as we have detailed below.




R-R may share Information collected on this website with its joint venture partners and third-party service providers for the purposes described in this Privacy Statement, such as website hosting or job application co-ordination. Otherwise, R-R will not disclose or transfer your Information to third parties without your prior consent, except (i) if R-R is required to do so by law or legal process (such as a court order), (ii) in response to a request by law enforcement authorities, or (iii) where R-R believes disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual illegal activity.

If you are employed by R-R, R-R reserves the right to transfer your Information, if applicable, in connection with the sale or transfer of all or a portion of its business or assets. You can withdraw your consent to the processing of your Information as set out in this Privacy Statement by requesting that your account is deactivated.  See below on how to Contact Us.


Dependant on your country or State of residence you may also be able to access your Information by either contacting your regional HR Shared Service Centre at or by contacting R-R as set out in the "How to Contact Us" section below. Subject to applicable law a minimal fee may apply to access your Information.


You can update or amend your Information at any time by accessing your account on this website using your user name and password.


You have other rights under applicable privacy legislation, such as lodging a complaint with the relevant national Supervisory Authority if you think R-R is not handling your personal information properly.  Please either contact our privacy officers or use the Contact Us details below to request more information in relation to your rights.




Use of this website means your Information will be transferred to, stored at and processed outside of your country or State of residence as outlined in this Privacy Statement. By continuing to login you are accepting that your Information can be used in this way.




R-R maintains reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards in an effort to protect against unauthorised access, use, modification or disclosure of your Information in its custody and control. You are responsible for keeping your user name and password confidential and you should not share them with anyone. R-R will never ask you for your password in any unsolicited communication, such as a letter, phone call or email message.


R-R has retention processes designed to retain Information for no longer than necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Statement and to comply with applicable legal requirements.
